Is your name written in the Book of Life?
The Book of Life is G-Ds personal book that He has, to keep track of all the people in the world, who are on His “good” and “accepted” list, which will guarantee you, your entry into Heaven, at the time of your death.
Did you know that Moses knew about this Book of Life almost three millennia before John the Apostle wrote about it in the Book of Revelation? It is assumed that the Book of Revelation was written around AD 95. But Moses mentions it in the book of Exodus! Amazing!
Truly Moses was a friend of G-D. G-D told Him many, many things that no other person on earth knew. Only a friend of G-D would know that. G-D reveals His thoughts, His plans to His servants, the Bible teaches us (SEE Amos 3:7; Ephesians 3:1-11). How wonderful it is to hear from G-D. G-D wants a relationship with you and when you have a relationship with G-D, G-D will speak to you, through the power of G-Ds H-LY SPIRIT. This was done for Moses, with Apostle Paul and Apostle John. And the same applies today for you and for me.
Each person on earth is expected to have a relationship with G-D. It is important to have a relationship with G-D, as it is the foundation for which you are guaranteed entry into Heaven – when you accept the gift given by G-D to you, your salvation, when you say, JESUS is my G-D, now and always.
When you accept JESUS into heart, to be the L-RD of your life, you are saying, you want to have a relationship with G-D. It is not something of a ritual you do without putting your heart, soul, mind and strength into it. It is not something a robot would do. It is something you should desire and that is how love is, a relationship. It is not artificial but genuine. It comes from the heart and is not based on lust of the eyes. Love is your responsibility to G-D and when you love G-D, you will want to have a relationship with Him. Just as we keep and maintain relationships with our loves ones – friends, family, relatives, pets, we know how important it is to feel loved and also what it means to be loved and to love others. This is the relationship that is built on love. Now G-D expects this of you and every human on earth. And this love develops over the years into a beautiful friendship.
This friendship is seen in the lives of Abraham, Moses, Samuel, King David, Apostle Paul, Apostle John and many others in the Bible. And if you desire such a friendship with G-D, you first need to love G-D with all your heart, soul, strength and mind and then live as He says and do as He says. Then you become His servant and learn to obey and serve Him. And as you obey and serve Him, not as a paid service (e.g. a chaplain at a church, a pastor at a church), but it is done in love for G-D, then you are His servant.
As time goes by, the relationship develops further, and it grows to be a friendship with G-D. And you commune with G-D as friend with friend, as the song “Draw me nearer, nearer blessed L-RD” says – a hymn by Fanny Crosby.
It is good to have a relationship with G-D. When all other helps fail, help of the helpless is JESUS our L-RD. We not only call on G-D in our times of need, but we should call on Him every day of our lives. It is a necessity in your life, just as much as you need to eat, drink and sleep every day of your life to have a good, healthy, happy life, you need to have a relationship with G-D to have a good, healthy, happy soul here on earth, and for you to be welcomed with great pomp and grandeur in the next life with JESUS.
If JESUS wept for Lazarus, His friend on earth after his death (SEE John 11:35), because of the sorrow seen in the lives of Lazarus’ sister’s Mary and Martha, then how precious is also the death of His saints who love Him here on earth (SEE Psalms 116:15). And when you die, after living a life loving JESUS, you will be welcomed into Heaven with great glory, because you were precious to JESUS on earth. Such is the relationship you ought to have with G-D while you live on earth, so that, you will know your Savior much more than those around you. Such was the case with Moses that G-D told him of the Book of Life almost 3,000 years, before it was mentioned in the Book of Revelation.
It is G-Ds desire your name is written in the Book of Life. Make sure you never have it erased by living in sin (Exodus 32:33; Revelation 22:19, Revelation 3:5). Be an overcomer in CHRIST in all aspects of your life and do not live in sin, and you will have eternal life with JESUS.
Praise the L-RD!
